- Proper fit
- For a proper fit, make sure you have ample toe room. Your toes should be able to play the piano, meaning that upward, downward, and sideways movement is not hindered.
- Leather
- Leather is a "living" organic material that must be treated with care. Clean, nourish (wax or oil), and protect it regularly. Always follow cleaning and care instructions, and use the right product for the right leather. Otherwise, you risk blocking the pores and destroying the natural shine that is offered by top quality leather. - Recommendation
- It is highly recommended that shoes be stored with humidity eliminating cedar shoetrees when they are not being worn.
- Travelling
- When travelling, make sure you remove the foot-beds (inner soles) from your shoes overnight (whenever possible) and let them air dry. Your shoes will feel like new in the morning.
- Lacing shoes
- Lace your shoes tightly in the morning, and loosen them as the day progresses, in order to adjust to the normal swelling of your feet as the day goes on.
- Avoid 100% cotton or wool socks
- Avoid 100% cotton or wool socks when you are doing heavy walking or travelling. SMART WOOL AND TOP QUALITY SYNTHETIC FIBRES ARE BEST FOR WICKING THE MOISTURE AWAY AND KEEPING YOUR FEET DRY AND COMFORTABLE.
- Matching your shoes
- Always match your shoes to the colour of your belt (men) and your handbag (women), or vice-versa.
- In-store advice
- Always seek in-store advice. Finding the proper size is critical for a perfect fit and optimal comfort.
- Narrow feet
- If you have narrow feet, buy shoes with Velcro straps that allow for a tighter fit.
